Marguerite Andrews
In 1997, I was given a book about clouds. I didn’t read it: I studied it. As a middle schooler, I spent a lot of time looking at the sky.
My years later, my love of the sky has not changed. I am continuously in awe of the magic that happens when you stop and watch the sky. For me, time slows, you can smell the scent of the air, and feel the Earth beneath your feet. It’s like a deep, satisfying breath. As someone who uses painting to process emotions, I find I am always chasing that "sky-feeling."
I use water-based mediums and paint from imagination to create abstract and landscape art. To the casual viewer, I really like clouds. But to someone who knows or needs that "sky-feeling", the work invites them into a deep sense of calm and peace.
