Susan Bradbury
Susan Miller Bradbury is known throughout Southwestern Virginia for her ability to capture the viewer’s heart by expertly depicting expressive situations through the use of provocative lighting. With her accomplished use of acrylics and oils, she takes memories captive on the canvas and evocatively conveys deep emotion.
Susan graduated from Radford University with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Arts as well as a minor in French. After a 5 year stint in graphic design, she rediscovered her love of painting and began furthering her studies under the tutelage of Daniel Greene, Paul McCormack, Vera Dickerson, and Lee Boynton. Her recent work with Stephen Bauman, Daniel Gerhartz, Heather Sink and Jennifer Gennari has contributed to her success in animal and human portraiture. Susan has illustrated several published books and has won many awards for her art. She currently teaches classes in oils privately in her studio located in Gallery 202 on the Roanoke Market.
Susan regularly exhibits in national juried events and has won Best in Show at several art events in the recent past. She exhibited a solo event at the Bower Center in January of 2020 and has been a featured artist at the The Gallery at 122 Main in Elkton, Maryland, Art Speaks gallery in Mathews, Virginia, and Carolina Creations in New Bern, North Carolina.
